I have noticed that our "Dollshop" has never really seen much activity. In your opinion, what could be done to get people to buy, sell and trade HERE?

I have tried everything, and just cannot seem to get people to seriously buy sell or trade on our forum. it saddens me.

Soon, if there is no usage of the marketplace, we will be forced to close the Dollshop area, and use it for something else.

Please, if you have any suggestions on how to make our "Dollshop" area more successful, mention it. we are open to ideas.

One suggestion i have, if you have things to sell:

If you are selling on other forums, such as DOA, Resinality, etc, also come and list your items here. If you are buying, and see that things are listed in our Dollshop, support the forum you love, and buy from here. We really want our dollshop area to see more activity!

Opinions?

welp i can try reposting my doa items here too... i think in general if we create more 'traffic' in the forum, the doll shop area will grow eventually.

That's a fair idea, it will be nice to be able to list things here also that you can't sell or trade over on DOA, like things for other non BJD dolls etc.

And for me it will be nice to be able to post the plush horses I make for MSD & SD dolls as DOA considers them completely off topic.
I will try and make more of an effort to both post things in the MP here, and to direct people to it from other places where I have things listed....now that I have a bit more time on my hands

LOL we've been here for nearly 8 years. LOL It's time we get the Dollshop going with some sort of kick start. LOL i can't wait 20 years to get it going LOL
But reposting your sales stuff here, and directing people here when u can helps too

Raewhitewolf: you can sell your horses here in the size appropriate area. Just title them that they are for "sd" or "MSD"

as far as non-bjd things, i'm a little leary to sell non bjd things here, cuz i don't want people to start selling Televisions and cars LMAO but if it can at least be REMOTELY tied to Dolls, it can be listed int he closest size area possible. IE: barbie clothes could be listed under Obitsu sizes.

Grendel: Feel free to list! We can't get anyone buying here if there's nothing to sell LOL

I myself am going to be listing a bunch of random gooddies soon.

I keep putting things up!
I'll add more now.
My whole "character mindset" has been changing so I'm trying to find new homes for those currently being neglected.

Ooo, plush horses! I'm always looking for props for BJD, and I can never have enough horses.

For me, the marketplace is dangerous as I have no money to buy, and I am, for the most part, very attached to my collection, so I don't sell. While I feel we can have a decent go of buying and selling props, clothes, wigs and eyes and other accessories, I think we'll have less good business with the actual dolls. Maybe it's just me, but because we're a small group, we all have fairly wide range of doll preferences - many of us don't share the same doll tastes even if we can appreciate the attractiveness of each other's dolls. We don't necessarily want what they have. And that's the danger of small forums.

I really hope we can get more traffic, as it's always good to have other places to post our sale items.

I tend to buy something and for some reason it doesn't work out - eyes too big or not right and I have the most wonderful MSD shoes right now that don't fit anyone in my collection. I have several wigs as well, trying to find the right one for RS Ai. I have the wig cap for small dolls I tried to GIVE away, but had no takers. I'd just like someone to be able to provide a loving home for this stuff - I buy a lot of Hand Craft English Glass Eyes and like them very much.

As an aside, I sure was impressed with my Phonolus stock soom wig - it wasn't at all like the pictures!
